“Education and Training "It will have been noticed how frequently education and training is raised both with social issues and in the economic sectors. It has applied to young and old, to technical and non-technical, to business, to values and to human relations. One might think that it is the panacea for our future. In the broad sense that might be the case, since it would include education by example, and by experience. This quote, by James Duncan, from 'Options for New Zealand's Future', published in 1984, mirrors similar comment, down through the ages. In today's world, it is probably even more relevant as information communication technology (ICT) now provides the opportunity for anyone to learn, whatever they wish, from where ever they are (home, bed, wheelchair etc).at anytime, especially if they have an appropriate mentor. All we need in New Zealand, is the will to make it happen.
