‘Towards 2030’, is a FTA project set up in 2006 to identify the underlying issues most likely to affect world and New Zealand, societies. On-going work to provide perspectives on the big drivers of change either working now, or likely to have an influence on our lives over the next quarter century, is taking place. This project provides the main focus for FTA’s work and updates work carried out earlier by the Trust in the '20/20' project. A Steering Group consisting of Jennifer Coote, Yvonne Curtis, Mike Gould (convenor) and John Robinson provided the initial analysis and definition of the mega-drivers of change. The initial identification and descriptions of the mega-drivers have been reviewed from time to time against other, international work, and have withstood the test of time and comparison.
Over the next few years, it is anticipated 'Towards 2030' will develop to the stage where members (and hopefully others) throughout NZ, become involved in assessing and commenting on the likely impacts these primary change drivers are likely to have on our society.
